Could the End of Winter Be in Sight?

The idea of a reversal of this cold and stormy pattern that started in the middle of December looks to be plausible as we head into next week.  The first in what I believe will become multiple sustainable ridging over the east and central USA will allow for a colder period over the west coast and the potential of significant storms for the northern Plains for the rest of February.

The 8-10 day ensembles line up nicely on both the European and GFS models.  The idea of a - PNA shows up nicely on both maps which would favoring ridging on the front side of this NW pacific trough.  There appears to be a battle ground that will setup from CT on North of sustained colder air (meaning temperatures will settle between 40-45 at max) while NJ, PA, DE, MD may go to 55-60 with 60's achieved from MD to NC.

Next week's euro sets the beginning stage of this pattern with a ridge originating from the GULF of Mexico and will flex it's muscles northbound.  The western periphery may bring storms over Deep TX with the threat of stronger storms for the Mid MS valley by the end of Feb.
